Allyn developed and directs all Slimworks® programs. She created this non-diet, mindful eating approach based on her own personal struggles with food, her body and self image as well as by working with hundreds of people for over 30 years. She has appeared on radio and television and has lectured on weight management and wellness topics at companies and organizations in Massachusetts and Georgia.
She received her B. A. in Psychology and English Literature from Boston University, a Masters in Education from the Harvard University School of Education and a Masters in Social Work from Boston University. Additionally, she is a licensed independent social worker, a family therapist, and an experienced couples therapist. She also holds dual licenses in both Georgia and Massachusetts.
Through Slimworks®, Allyn shares her passion, expertise, and support in teaching people to change long held, unhealthy eating patterns and ways of thinking about themselves and their bodies. She offers a successful mindful eating approach for breaking free from the endless deprivation and bingeing cycle of diets and provides a self compassionate way of making peace with food, your mind, and your body.
